A Cave City Planning Commission was formed as early as the 1960s. Over the years, various efforts were made to direct development within the corporate limits of our city. In 2018, the commission was reconstituted into the current form it has today. Interested citizens are encouraged to speak with the mayor and get involved in this critical part of our community. Any meetings or other events related to the Planning Commission will be listed on the events section of this site.

The commission has developed, and the City Council has officially adopted, a comprehensive plan, zoning map, and zoning code for the City of the Cave City. They have also adopted the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code. Physical copies of these documents are always available by requesting one at City Hall. If you have any questions about any portion of these documents, please call City Hall and schedule a time to speak or meet with our team.

Developers

We appreciate all who want to build, invest, and grow with us in Cave City. Those looking to create new developments within our city limits, or adjacent to them with thoughts about future annexation, should consult our latest zoning code. Electrical, street, and water & sewer infrastructure costs for new developments are the responsibility of developers. The city will assist to ensure that adequate access is available and that fire safety and other needs can be met. We will also be involved, with required state agencies, in the review and approval of built infrastructure that the city will eventually own and maintain. Please reach out to us with any questions.
