A Cave City Planning Commission was formed as early as the 1960s. Over the years, various efforts were made to direct development within the corporate limits of our city. In 2018, the commission was reconstituted into the current form it has today. Membership is currently comprised of the sitting City Council members and the mayor, though plans are underway to convert that membership to a majority of residents with one council member liaison. Interested citizens are encouraged to speak with the mayor and get involved in this critical part of our community. Any meetings or other events related to the Planning Commission will be listed on the events section of this site.

The commission has developed, and the City Council has officially adopted, the following comprehensive plan, zoning map, and zoning code for the City of the Cave City. They have also adopted the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code. Physical copies of these documents are always available by requesting one at City Hall. If you have any questions about any portion of these documents, please call City Hall and schedule a time to speak or meet with the mayor.
